It was an especially exciting Easter season this year thanks to Charlie's arrival. It was his first big holiday! And if that wasn't enough excitement, Amelia has been preparing all year to receive her First Communion immediately following Easter.
It wouldn't be Easter without a trip to see the Easter Bunny at Legacy Park in Cottleville. Charlie had zero interest in looking at the camera no matter how hard I tried. He just kept grabbing the bunny's furry arm and alternating between looking concerned and fascinated.
The visit with the big, furry bunny was followed by the annual Easter Egg Hunt. It is fun, but there is definitely no "hunting" about it. They basically throw a couple thousand eggs on the ground and then sound an alarm and let the kids grab as much as they can. It's all over in about 37 seconds.
Then it was on to the egg dying....poor Charlie was already asleep and didn't even make it into the picture.
Every year the Easter bunny leaves a picture scavenger hunt for the kids. At the end of the hunt they find their Easter baskets. It's a fun tradition that usually lasts about 20 minutes and often involves going up and down all 3 levels of our home and outside.
Amelia's big gift this year was the movie, "Frozen". Henry's big gift was a large child's shovel to use around the undeveloped areas near our house.
And the Easter Bunny was kind enough to bring abnormally loud bike horns for EACH kid.
After some breakfast and egg hunting (and a little candy eating), we got ready to start our family visits for the day.
It was a beautiful day! The kids started by hunting dandelions at Grandma and Papa's house.
Charlie even got a dandelion boutonniere out of the deal!
Then, egg #2.
After checking out the goods, it was on to my parent's house where we were greeted by Peep racecars! Henry loved them!
And so did Charlie!
Then another egg hunt, more food, and tons of candy. Repeat, repeat, repeat!
