Monster Jam 2015

While the girls were at home enjoying "liquid luck" and "Pygmy Puffs", the (big) boys were watching trucks at Monster Jam. 

This is a Henry's second year in attendance and it is most definitely his thing!  Maybe Charlie will tag along next year!

Living the Harry Potter life

I just love these sweet friends.  They've been enjoying each other since the summer before kindergarten started and it has been a blast watching them grow up and change.  These girls both love, love, love Harry Potter and decided to read Book 6 at the same time over winter break.  Once the book as done, we got together for a fun little Harry Potter movie watching night. 

We decided to make some Felix Felicis  (or liquid luck) from the book.  The girls enjoyed the process and I think Mrs. Hamilton did too :)

We picked up a couple of fancy jars, some apple juice, and some tiny golden star edible flakes.  

I'm pretty sure it worked--for Amelia at least.  She left for Disney World two days later!

We also made some Pygmy Puffs from the book.  This is one of the characters' pet in the book and isn't supposed to be edible, but......the cotton candy at the dollar store was screaming Amelia's name to be used for a project.  They turned out a tad bit creepy but were delicious nonetheless!

Charlie's Mustache Bash

Just a few pictures from Charlie's big family/friend party.  We were so happy that we were finally able to celebrate nearly a month after his actual birthday.

 

The balloons arrived while he was napping.  When he got up he wanted to go around and point out every single balloon (which he calls "ball ball").  He was pretty pumped.

 

It was a great day and a super fun party!  With a little luck, next year's party will be a little less crazy!

A Fancy Party

My vehicle loving, dirt digging guy loves a good tea party every one in awhile.  It is usually when I'm least expecting it.  I was invited to a fancy tea this week that he set up all on his own.  About halfway through the tea party he said, "What can I do to make this even better?". Then he went and got a tablecloth (the blanket from his bed) and put it in the table.

Winter Wind

It is derby time again around here and this is the first year that Amelia designed everything herself.  She researched how to build a fast car and then she built it!  The design and name was all created by her.  We are very proud of the work she put into her car!

The Winter Wind ended up placing right in the middle of the pack.  Some cars have all the luck!

A New Kaleidoscope for Henry

Two weeks later and it still goes with him wherever he goes.  Often from the backseat he will say, "Mom, I've got a good one here that you've GOT to see".
