Amelia is on a roll with her sewing! In fact, she is doing way more sewing than me these days. She loves making these pillows and her latest one is for my great aunt that lives in Wisconsin. Amelia has made the trip to visit Aunt Elaine three times and she constantly asks when we can go again.
Aunt Elaine just sent us a special little package with two tiny clown dolls inside--one for each kid. She explained the story about where they came from and why they were so special to her and asked that Amelia and Henry take care of them. It was then that Amelia decided she would sew a pillow for Aunt Elaine.
My aunt collects angels, so Amelia drew a picture of herself and Aunt Elaine together as angels. Did you notice that Amelia's halo doesn't shine?
And on the bottom she wrote very carefully in her very best handwriting, "Me & Aunt Elaine".
We got a letter back pretty quickly from my aunt raving about her new pillow. She recently moved into an assisted living facility so she said she put it in the basket on her walker and showed all of her friends her new pillow. She even said she sleeps with it sometimes. Amelia was overjoyed!
