With the warm days of summer upon us, you can bet that blueberry picking season wasn't far behind for the Wards! So, last weekend we headed out to Wind Ridge Farm to do just that!
Unfortunately, this year our blueberry picking visit did not overlap with peach picking season. We will be heading back for those mid-July, mark my words. The day we picked blueberries, it was incredibly crowded, but luckily there were enough berries for everyone!
Nearly 5 lbs. later, we headed home to enjoy the, ahem, fruits of our labor (that joke never gets old!). Unbeknownst to me, Clifford is a big fan of blueberries too. Luckily, Amelia was in the sharing mood. This is about half of the blueberries we picked on Sunday.
We've eaten about half of the berries so far and will most likely be freezing the rest to use down the road for baking and smoothies. They really are so much better than the frozen ones we pick up at the store.
