Day 5 was pretty laid back in preparation for our flight on Day 6. We headed to Seattle Center via the monorail. I think it is a 2 minute journey, so it was exciting, but short lived.
Our main reason for traveling to Seattle Center was not to visit the Space Needle as you may think, but to check out the Children's Museum instead. It was nice to get an up close view of the Space Needle, though, even if we never actually made it up there.
The Museum was great--perfect for wearing out Amelia without wearing all of us out too much! In the literature section, they had a life-sized Goldilocks and the Three Bears display that was really well done. Here Jason and Amelia are reading the story.
Each of us in our respective chairs--papa bear, momma bear, and baby bear.
They had a neat little art section too where Amelia could draw on a huge chalkboard or paint on an easel. They also had clay to sculpt and art projects to be made from recycled materials.
No children's museum is complete without a water area!
We were lucky enough to be there during a free music and movement class which Amelia definitely enjoyed!

The the boat in the Global Village. They did a great job with setting up hands-on activities to introduce other cultures, too bad I didn't get any pictures of this!
We finished the day with a story time in the Castle room--I'm sure you can figure out who liked that!
We took the 2 minute ride on the monorail back to downtown and it dropped us off right at a candy shop. We all helped fill a bag of candy to share and then headed back to the hotel to rest a bit before dinner. Jason and I even slipped out later to catch of viewing of "The Hangover" that evening while my mom corralled Amelia for the night!
