Spokane: Day 1

Day 6 of the trip turned into Day one in Spokane. We took the 40 minute flight from Seattle to Spokane after a quick Starbucks stop.

Seriously, though, our hotel gave us a $5 gift card redeemable at the hotel restaurant for every day we refused maid service. We ended up earning $20 in gift cards which we used to buy breakfast our last morning in Seattle.

The whole reason we added Spokane to the itinerary is because I have an aunt and uncle who live there. They volunteered to host the 2009 Fey Reunion. It was really great because I had not visited their home in at least 10 years. It is really a beautiful part of the country!

That evening, all of the relatives in-town for the reunion gathered at my aunt and uncle's house for dinner. My Uncle Jerry made his special homemade ice cream and it was topped with the sweetest, most delicious strawberries I have ever tasted in my life. This dessert from this one night alone was worth the trip!

Snow White made an appearance!
