Day One in Washington proved pretty low-key. We arrived in Seattle after a pretty uneventful flight and were lucky enough to leave at a decent time (10 AM). Thankfully we had a direct flight and we arrived to sunny, 72 degree weather. We scored a pretty nice hotel using priceline and checked in before heading to our respective hotel rooms for nap time. (My mom and Amelia shared a room and Jason and I had the other).
Upon waking up, we headed out to explore around our hotel. We walked a couple of blocks to Pike Place Market even though it was packing up for the day.
The only picture I have from Day one (which was also the Fourth of July) is of Amelia on Rachel, the charity pig. She is actually an oversized piggy bank and Amelia was all about following suit and climbing atop her back like the other kids before her.
We got some quick glances of the waterfront and then called it a night before grabbing dinner on the way back to the hotel. We had planned on trying to catch some fireworks, but they didn't start until 10 PM. And, since that was midnight St. Louis time, we decided against it. We were all asleep well before they even started!
